Christmas in Rexburg

Since we couldn't be with our families during the majority of the holidays we felt it was necessary to make our own little Chirstmas in Rexburg.
Ryan decided to give me a little early Christmas present. He wrapped it with newspaper and packaging tape..haha..we work with what resources we have...
Because we don't have a fireplace in our apartment..I decided to just hang them on the wall. No better place really...
No matter how many lights I turned on in the apartment..it still turned out dark..oh well...this is our apt for the holidays! We couldn't get a pretty tree, or even fit it in our apartment for that matter!..so we had 3 little trees to pose as our tree. Ryan's mom gave us an ornament this year of his dog Oscar! He couldn't be with us for Christmas so we got him this way..haha
I was really sad that we couldn't be with our families for all the traditions of Christmas..so we got together with our good friends Brittany and Kelly and made gingerbread houses with graham crackers and homemade frosting! It was a pretty awesome gingerbread house if you ask me!

Blog-worthy

For our date night this past weekend, Ryan got a free pizza from Papa Murphy's at school...and since we are an easily amused couple..we felt this was a blog-worthy tumor on a pizza..i mean..who see's tumor's that big on a pizza?!

Ryan's little mishap

As I lay sleeping..I heard a LOUD thud! scared the tar out of me!...and all i heard was..oowww...haha..apparently Ryan had tripped out of the shower. We have no idea what he hit his foot on, but we are pretty sure the last two toes are...broken...
This picture does not do it justice..

I love puzzles..puzzles..puzzles..puzzles...

So..as newlyweds only on a part-time salary-budget(temporarily)...we decided to get a puzzle to keep us occupied..haha..It took us forever to finish and Ryan went crazy just sitting there doing a puzzle for hours on end..SO I ended up finishing it..yay for me!
It probably sat like this for about 2 weeks. So at this point..I finished it all in one day for Ryan's sake to have it off of our coffee table..
It's disney puzzle of the seven dwarfs..(sorry for the flash)

Bring on the feast!

So this Thanksgiving we ran into an interesting find in the Van Wagenen's most beloved dish..the green bean casserole. We won't mention names..but it was pretty hilarious to be down to the last droppings of this wondrous dish to find..well..the lid to a green bean can.
Do ya see it?
Apparently the turkey leg is sacred in the Hayes family. So we saved one for Ryan..haha

Our FIRST apartment

These are just a couples pictures of our new little apt. It's little, but we are grateful none the less. It's good for newlyweds to struggle a little.
Our little family room..which is basically the whole apartment.

Driving cross country

After the open house in South Carolina Ryan and I had the fun little opportunity to drive cross country though the states. It was a LONG drive!(as you can tell by our faces..we were going crazy) Through all the states by far the coolest thing we saw was the arch in Missouri!

Our Honeymoon!

This was our honeymoon spot for the first few days..Johnson Mill. It was a little country-like bed and breakfast. Our room over looked Mt. Timpanogos. We loved it and plan on going back as soon as we can!
