how excited?

SO EXCITED!

i gave in...

i've been doin that a lot lately. so i promised myself that i would never watch the bachelor again after last season with lameo jason loser..but i couldn't resist when i knew jillian(my favorite) was going to be the next one. i'm finally up to speed on the show..i had yet to see any episode of this season until today and after the first glimpse of this guy. i totally think that he should be the one standing at the end...

memorial day weekend in CALIFORNIA

this past weekend weston and whitni went home to CA for a camping trip and invited us. it really was so much fun and SO nice to get out of rexburg..completey worth the 13 hour drive!

all the things we did in no paticular order:

..camped in santa cruz with whitni's family..

..spent a half day in san francisco..

*went to peir 39/the wharf (saw the infamous seals, alcatraz from across the way and ate delicious mini doughnuts)

*drove down lombard street

*drove across the golden gate bridge(and back)

*ate at boudin's (best sour dough bread bowls ever)

..went on a mile a half hike through the redwoods..

..licked banana slugs...yes you heard me correctly (apparently a mangrum family tradition that's been going on for years. every time they go on this hike they lick banana slugs. it apparently makes your tongue numb. and yes i did it. i guess i give into peer pressure when it's persisant)..

..the guys went to see the new terminator(and liked it, but not that much)..

..spent a couple days at seacliff beach(and got NO sun..how? i don't know!)..

..ate at a taco truck in turlock (i was feelin sketchy about it, but again..i give into peer pressure and it was really GOOD)

..went to the boardwalk and went on a couple rides-"fireball" and "giant dipper"(85 year old rollercoaster)..

..had a nice bbq with weston's family on memorial day..

thank you mangrums for letting us tag along..we had a lot of fun!

mad sewing skills

for my birthday this past year my mom got me a sewing kit. i was pretty excited about it at the time seeings how i don't have one nor do i know how to sew. ryan just bought some brand new khaki shorts and the belt loop unraveled. lameo. i don't believe i've ever sewed a thing in my life except for maybe in young women. i know my mom has showed me a few things in the past, but i don't remember them(sorry mom) haha..but i decided to break out my mad sewing skills and wing it with my handy sew kit!

If you know ryan and i well, you know two things..we love seafood and we love chinese food (esp. panda). since rexburg has neither..we resort to burgers and fries..BUT while at the grocery store ryan and i came upon orange chicken sauce. yes folks..panda express is now marketing their orange chicken sauce. It obviously doesn't taste the exact same, but it's still delish.

my best friend sarah beth got married last week on may 5th. it was such an awesome day! sarah was a beautiful bride and she married a wonderful guy. i was able to attend the sealing. it's one thing that makes me grateful that i got married first. i'm able to attend all of my friends sealings which it such a blessing. ryan was supposed to come, but the day before we were supposed to leave he found out he had a test and a huge group project..so i went alone:(
