book progress

Since i spend most of my time alone nowadays with ryan at school and work constantly(and if you're wondering..yes. i'm still on the look out for a job), i find myself writing more and more. i've now started writing another book. I'm not finished with my another book yet. (i have around 70 pages) But i had an epiphany in a dream about another book about a month and a half ago and i just had to write it down. I tried making a goal of writing 10 pages every week, but so far after 2 months i have 24. haha..but i also gave myself 2 weeks of vacation for christmas. sooo...we'll pretend like i'm still going strong. it's come along a lot faster than my other book though..thats for sure! so i'm feeling kinda proud of myself. I also now have a crazy sleeping schedule because i like writing when the rest of rexburg is sleeping. i don't know what it is, but i feel like i can really concentrate and dive into my books late at night. i really feel like author is the profession i want to pursue and i'm kind of excited about it! never in a million years would i have pictured myself as a writer, even a year ago i was still just getting into the whole book world. BUT, to keep myself on track i'm going to blog my progress every week. maybe if i feel like i'm answering to someone i'll get things done!

i love the bachelor

especially THIS season!
jason the daddy
i love watching the bachelor/bachelorette..so it's no surprise that this season i'm just as obsessed. especially since i was rooting for mr. jason in the last season of the bachelorette. (deanna missed out!)
my pick for jason is stephanie. i love her. she's genuine, mature, has a pure heart with good/real intentions! and she's a widow with a four year old.
stephanie the mommy
they are MFEO..or maybe only i feel that way..but honestly..i can't promise that no tears will come if/when she doesn't get a rose. they need a romantic connection STAT.
(and forgive me for sounding completely valley girl..it comes out when i speak about my obsessions in life..i can't help it..don't judge me.)

while the cats away the mice play

i was lucky to have whitni around for the time while ryan was gone. weston went on the camp out as well..so i went and stayed with whit for those 3 days...we did everything chick-flick related..sense and sensibility, pride and prejudice, bride wars, bridget jones 2(edited)..it was nice not hearing the complaints when we wanted to watch our movies..haha. on saturday night we met up with brittany for a night out. bajio and bride wars-great combination. i loved bride wars. probably because i LOVE kate hudson..she's one of my favorites. As much as i missed ryan while he was gone it was nice to have a good friends occupy my time..thanks whiti and brit!

my ryan fix

So yesterday ryan had to leave me for this IBC retreat/camp out. IBC is this business class where they have to create a real business on campus for the semester. So why is a retreat necessary you ask? for some team building. lame. i'm kinda bitter..haha..so ryan left yesterday at 6 in the morning and won't be back til tomorrow night. Now..i've been without ryan before. We've spent plenty of time apart during our dating/engagement/certain weekends since we've been married. But we have NEVER gone without communication. So for the first time in two and a half years i'm going on day two without a text/phone call and i'm going through withdrawals. I need my ryan fix...
i woke up to this yesterday morning..it made me miss him already..

first time

So i've been dying to see twilight again once it hit the cheap theater in rexburg. Finally last friday ryan caved and took me. He knew he was going to eventually see it anyway...And as we were thinking about it..we could not recall a time when we just went to the movies alone. We THINK we did when we were dating, but we're pretty sure we have yet to since we've been married. if you know ryan and our story you know we didn't really even date..haha..we just started hanging out and it clicked. we rarely went on dates alone. We've gone out to eat alone, but that's been the extent of our dates. So yay..our first movie alone was twilight..haha..something i'll always remember.
and if you're curious as to what ryan thought of it...he laughed the whole time. not WITH the movie but AT it. haha..i couldn't blame him. half the time i was laughing with him. But he did say he was amused. and I'll take it!

happy birthday hubby!

Ryan turned 26 last week! so crazy to me...i'm slightly late on the post, but i thought i should publicly wish my love a HaPpY BiRtHdAy! Sadly it was on a wednesday and he had his same lame schedule of 5am-5pm work and school. I tried to make the day the best for him as possible. I made him his favorite french toast breakfast and one of his favorite's-spaghetti for dinner. We waited until the weekend to go out to eat. On saturday we finally tried stockman's because that's what ryan wanted. Stockman's is this all-you-can-eat steak place in between rexburg and idaho falls. It was a lot different then we all expected. (and by we all-wes, whit, me and ryan) We expected more of a chain restaurant feel inside, but it was more like a log cabin. It was pretty cool.
my family stole my cake platter..haha..the cutting board was the only i had
"i'm only smiling so you'll stop taking pictures" face

my best friend

So last night i was talking with one of my best friends on instant message and we were talking about relationships and how cheesy is fun in the beginning because it gives you butterflies and such, but that with time it gets old. and i said something along the lines of..yeah..cheesy left mine and ryan's relationship a long time ago..he makes a joke out of everything now. and i may have said it kind of negatively. and she said:
"honestly, i love how yours and ryan's relationship is so real and funny and i definitely want something like that because you guys really seem like best friends."
shame on me...i don't know why i took that for granted...
Thanks alix..that made my day :)
It kinda made me reminisce to when ryan and i were dating so i thought i'd dig up some old photos...i'm constantly laughing with him..
oh "the ready face"...ryan used to make this face in EVERY picture and everyone would laugh and say wow ryan you look so ready for the camera and ryan would say well what if that's my "ready face"?...haha..i guess you had to be there.
the FKC co-founders..haha..
we miss the long locks..no worries..i'm growing them back as we speak.
i was trying to mimic the "ready face"

i miss my ryan

The new year has kinda started out rocky for us. I still can't find a job and ryan is starting a new semester. Because i don't have a job yet, ryan has to work and do one of his busiest semesters yet. Ryan gets up at 5am for work at 6 and he doesn't get home until 5:30/6:00pm depending on the day. It's been really hard not seeing ryan all day. He's worn out already and it's only been a week since he's been on this schedule. The only time i have with him is the 3 hours at night before he goes to bed when he's doing homework. I realize this is a normal schedule for most, but i'm not used to it and i don't like it! I'm ready for this semester to be OVER. 4 more months and counting. Thankfully there is a light at the end of the tunnel. He should be graduating in july and we are STOKED

holidays in SC

This year for christmas ryan and i went to south carolina to spend the holidays with his family. Ryan of course was excited to go home for christmas, I, on the other hand, prepped myself for a difficult first time away from my family for the holidays. But i really have wonderful in-laws who helped the holidays go by smoothly. I feel at home when i am with them. It was difficult on christmas day, but i just tried not to think about it. And also being used to white christmases, it didn't necessarily feel like christmas when it's 70 degrees outside..haha..crazy i feel that way since i spent 16 years in CA for christmas.
The trip was a really nice break from rexburg. Rexburg is a depressing place in the winter time and ryan and i don't really have the best attitudes about it. We can get pretty bitter actually. So going to SC, during the winter time and actually seeing the sun and being able to see green and go to the beach, helped A LOT! It was nice to be able to go boating while my family in utah was sledding...slightly ironic. We did need light jackets though..it was pretty breezy. On christmas eve we went to james island to look at the lights and saw santa's shop sculpted out of sand..it was pretty sweet. We enjoyed delicious fresh seafood which ryan and i love to do everytime we go out there. We go through withdrawals not living near a coast..haha. We ate at Hyman's seafood and sat at the table that sandra bullock and neil diamond sat at..we thought that was kinda cool. Ryan and i enjoyed playing with oscar and he slept with us every night. And not with my consent by the way-i even woke up to him throwing up next to me one night..haha..it was lovely. We went to mt.pleasant and went to the beach and ate at this place called five guys. We fell in love with their burgers and fries. It was no in-n-out, but it was pretty up there.
It was a nice relaxing getaway and great to spend time with family. We are grateful for ryans parents who flew us out there..we love you guys!
