father's day

For Father's Day we decided to have a BBQ at beaver dick park(it's basically a camping ground 15 min out of rexburg)..Ryan and Weston went shopping the night before and decided they wanted to do hawaiian chicken burgers. So on father's day we headed out for beaver dick and found the perfect spot for our purposes, but as soon as we stepped out of the car we were covered in bugs...and this was our conversation-

wes: are those mosquitoes? ryan: no..i don't think so. whit: yeah...don't mosquitoes have..? ryan: no! those are mosquitoes!!

Ryan started flailing about running as fast as he could from the car, as we all did, but they were EVERYWHERE! there was no escaping them. I wish someone could have videotaped it because we probably looked like idiots jumping up and down, failing our arms, trying to swat at the mosquitoes. It was hilarious! We all booked it back to the car and decided that plans needed relocating. So we drove around to every park in rexburg, but the grills were all taken. Finally we went to the last park we could think of and got lucky! It was a perfect little closed off picnic area where we thought we had some privacy, but as soon as the boys started prepping the grill and getting everything ready...along comes this kid(maybe about 5 or 6 years old) and he drops, his pants about ten feet away from us right by the grill and he proceeds to pee on the tree there. Ryan was like-"hey! don't do that there! we going to be eating over here." The startled kid looks up at ryan and pulls up his pants and then only moves to this bushy hill no farther away and finishes peeing..haha..i pray my children never do that in strangers company! While waiting for the chicken we all called our dads to wish them a happy father's day. I love my dad and wish i could have been there on his day! After all was said and done..it was a pretty eventful day, but over all we enjoyed ourselves as much as we could without our families.
