"Wow. Barely made it out with my life there."

movies..movies..movies

for the sake of posts/space i'm gonna combine sister's keeper and time traveler's wife into one post. loved them both. both completely different from the books. so, i liked them for what they were, not comparing them to the books. i think i liked time travelers movie better than the book and i know i liked sister's keeper book better than the movie. i'd recommend seeing both if you haven't already..

finally official

the official trailer for time traveler's wife came out today. this makes me incredably excited because this means it will be coming out august 14, 2009 after all! is it pathetic that i live for movies? for those who haven't read the book yet, i'm not going to post it here. but if you have read it or don't plan on reading it..you can watch the trailer here...i cried. but i think im in the crying mood today because i just cried in UP as well...

UP

it's heartwarming..go see it.
but don't expect hilarious..like ryan did.

the time traveler's wife

If there is any other movie that i'm almost as excited for as new moon if not just as much..it's the time travelers wife.(shocker that there could possibly be such a thing, but it's TRUE) i read the book several months ago and fell in love with it. it was such a beautiful story(not meaning to sound corny, but it was!) my biggest frustration with it was the language though..it kinda tainted a really amazing story. but in movie form i know it will be that much better because they won't be able to use the language as frequently.
One of the biggest reasons why i'm so excited to see it is rachel mcadams plays the main character alongside eric bana(he completely turned me off in the other boleyn girl, but maybe in this movie he will be able to redeem himself!) i've loved rachel mcadams since the notebook, seeings how it is one of my all time favorite movies. the movie supposedly comes out in august, but i have yet to see a trailer and the release date has moved SO much. it was initially supposed to come out last year..so let's hope august 14 sticks!

another weekend come and gone...

we headed over to wes and whit's for conference on saturday..in between sessions the guys worked on cars and such. i assume most that look at our blog are members of our church, but if not, you can read about it here.
instead of going out like we normally do on fri AND sat..whit came up with the idea to make pizza. she's become quite the baker and makes pizza on a regular basis. she went ahead and made wholegrain crust and we topped it with garlic and tomato. it was de-lish! and healthy too! now if you know me well you know i don't care about what's healthy and what's not..seeings how all my favorite foods entail fat and grease. but it felt good for a change to know i was actually putting something into my body that was semi-good for my body.
later that night whit and i went and saw new in town. it was a surprisingly cute movie. renee zellweger isn't my favorite, but i love harry connick jr...interested in a fun chick flick? i'd recommend it.

fireproof

Last weekend whitni had reserved fireproof at the library. With nothing else to do on a saturday night we all decided to watch it. We'd only heard one thing about the movie. That it was better than expected. We had low expectations going into the film which helps with disappoint. It reminded us all of church videos..it IS a christian film. I pretty much balled the last ten minutes. Any movie that makes me cry out of happiness raises the charts of good movies in my book. It was a really good movie for any married couple-struggling or not.
rent it. i think it's worth it.

it's my party and i'll cry if i want to

Well...i'm not crying i just realized yesterday that once you hit 22 there are no other birthdays to look forward to. it's all down hill from here..haha..let me explain.
if you belong to the church you'll understand most of these..
8 years old-you look forward to your baptism
12 years old-you're finally out of primary and moving onto young women/young men
14 years old-you're finally old enough to go to stake dances
16 years old-you get your drivers license and you are finally allowed to date(even if you did it a little before that ;) it's offially legal now..haha)
18 years old-you're officially an adult..and you get to smoke legally if you're interesting in that sort of thing..haha
20 years old-you're finally NOT a teenager anymore
21 years old-actually feel like an adult and you get to gamble and drink..once again..if you're into that sort of thing...
where do you go from there? you get to rent cars when you're 25..something to look forward to if you need to rent a car. and then 60-something when you're a "senior citizen" and get discounts at restaurants/movies/stores...haha..but really people..i think more things to look forward to need to happen through of the years, rather than just getting old...wouldn't you agree?
I woke up to a bouquet of gorgeous flowers on the kitchen table, even though ryan HATES buying them...quote-what's the point in spending 50 bucks on things that are just going to die in a week anyway-end quote. It's true, but i LOVE flowers! and appreciate them nonetheless. so against his principles..because he loves me, he gets them for me:) BUT he refuses to on vday..but that's a post for another day..
And just when i thought i was going to be alone all day, ryan skipped school to be with me. :) The only other thing i wanted to do yesterday was see "he's just not that into you" which i enjoyed very much so. after our large popcorn and DP we weren't hungry for dinner so we just went home in time for...GREY'S and PRIVATE PRACTICE. i couldn't have asked for a better birthday...

while the cats away the mice play

i was lucky to have whitni around for the time while ryan was gone. weston went on the camp out as well..so i went and stayed with whit for those 3 days...we did everything chick-flick related..sense and sensibility, pride and prejudice, bride wars, bridget jones 2(edited)..it was nice not hearing the complaints when we wanted to watch our movies..haha. on saturday night we met up with brittany for a night out. bajio and bride wars-great combination. i loved bride wars. probably because i LOVE kate hudson..she's one of my favorites. As much as i missed ryan while he was gone it was nice to have a good friends occupy my time..thanks whiti and brit!

first time

So i've been dying to see twilight again once it hit the cheap theater in rexburg. Finally last friday ryan caved and took me. He knew he was going to eventually see it anyway...And as we were thinking about it..we could not recall a time when we just went to the movies alone. We THINK we did when we were dating, but we're pretty sure we have yet to since we've been married. if you know ryan and our story you know we didn't really even date..haha..we just started hanging out and it clicked. we rarely went on dates alone. We've gone out to eat alone, but that's been the extent of our dates. So yay..our first movie alone was twilight..haha..something i'll always remember.
and if you're curious as to what ryan thought of it...he laughed the whole time. not WITH the movie but AT it. haha..i couldn't blame him. half the time i was laughing with him. But he did say he was amused. and I'll take it!

i can't get it off my mind!

so if you are sick of hearing about twilight stop now. but if you read our blog often you know twilight is a main topic, so you knew this was coming! I LOVED THE MOVIE!(girly squeals) yes..it had it's cheesy parts and some not so great effects, but i was expecting that. No movie can live up to the hype it gets. Whitni and i got to the theaters at 9 to wait in line for the premiere and it was so worth it! i felt like a huge geek, but what can i say..i probably am! I could not get the smile off of my face for the whole movie. Every time i saw edward my heart melted and i wanted to be bella!..not just bella, but kristen stewart. Robert pattison is so HOT! I was feeling a little sketchy when they first cast him as edward because he was not at all how i pictured him! But in the movie he truly gave the character justice! Although i did picture edward being more charismatic, it didn't matter..he stole my heart! i only wished we could have seen more of the cullens, but hopefully there will be more movies to come and they won't stop with twilight!
we figured if we're going to be here for 5 hours we're going to be cozy!

SCREAM!

So on opening night...no let's start with Whitni...my best friend whitni LOVES high school musical. LOVES it! So ever since she found out high school musical 3 was coming out she has been dying to see it. ME-on the other hand-really couldn't care. But because i'm such a great friend..haha..i went with her and LOVED it! haha..i was getting into every song..except the troy and gabriella songs...gag me. i can't stand that brunette...i even came home and bought the soundtrack on zune(we pay $15 a month for unlimited downloading..otherwise i probably wouldn't have.) It was SO cute! i loved sharpay(ashley tisdale for those of you that don't speak high school musical..i didn't.) I have found my new squeeze...zac efron is a babe!

the other boleyn girl

Alright..So last night whitni and I decided we wanted to go see The Other Boleyn Girl. Holly had mentioned a few times that she wanted to see it and i saw a couple previews and thought yeah...that looks intriguing. We decided we wouldn't make the boys watch it with us so they went and saw 10,000 BC. Okay...had i known what this movie was really about and known it was about King Henry VIII and his wives, i probably wouldn't have seen it. Through out the whole thing i was frustrated, sad, speechless, angry, disappointed, etc...And normally I am one who cries at all movies, but I was so shocked at the movie I couldn't even cry until whitni and i both got out of the movie and saw the husbands and then the tears came pouring out! I haven't been able to stop thinking about the movie since last night because it left me with such a horrible taste in my mouth! Unless you are a history buff and interested in this depressing story i would suggest steering clear of this movie!
