mad sewing skills

for my birthday this past year my mom got me a sewing kit. i was pretty excited about it at the time seeings how i don't have one nor do i know how to sew. ryan just bought some brand new khaki shorts and the belt loop unraveled. lameo. i don't believe i've ever sewed a thing in my life except for maybe in young women. i know my mom has showed me a few things in the past, but i don't remember them(sorry mom) haha..but i decided to break out my mad sewing skills and wing it with my handy sew kit!

i finally got a J-O-B! one of the girls i visit teach is a manager at craigo's pizza..so she hooked me up! we're are so thankful. it's been especially difficult finding one since we're down to the wire on time. ryan's graduating in july..so it's hard to find a job where the employer is willing to hire you for only 4 months. i started this past week and it's gone pretty smooth so far.

This week anna(my best friend since 7th grade)'s husband went out of town so since i have so much time on my hands, i went down to logan to keep her company. We watched the women, ate cafe rio, had a girls night with alix, and spent time with my family. It was nice to have some anna/mindy time..we haven't done that since december '06 when we were roommates!

i was lucky to have whitni around for the time while ryan was gone. weston went on the camp out as well..so i went and stayed with whit for those 3 days...we did everything chick-flick related..sense and sensibility, pride and prejudice, bride wars, bridget jones 2(edited)..it was nice not hearing the complaints when we wanted to watch our movies..haha. on saturday night we met up with brittany for a night out. bajio and bride wars-great combination. i loved bride wars. probably because i LOVE kate hudson..she's one of my favorites. As much as i missed ryan while he was gone it was nice to have a good friends occupy my time..thanks whiti and brit!

nothing is worse than job hunting

After about 10 months the restaurant i worked at closed shop. It was kind of just thrown at me. I showed up to work and they said that was the last day we were open..i'm like sweet. thanks for the warning guys. so now i'm job hunting and it makes me hate life. i HATE rejection. and there really aren't a whole lot of choices. SO..if anyone knows of a place in rexburg that's hiring...throw it my way! it will be much appreciated.

GirLS WeEkENd

Last weekend of few of my best friends came to visit. namely:anna and alix. We'd been wanting to get together for quite some time and seeings how rexburg was where our whole friendship started they came here. We were roomates for two years and weren't ready to stop, but plans change when you get married! On friday night they all showed up. Britt and kelly, alix, and ryan and i went to wingers for some sticky fingers. Once anna and colby arrived we headed back to britt and kelly's for some games and to chat and reminisce of course! Saturday was a pretty relaxing day. We woke up went to great harvest for some food then went back to britt and kelly's(there was place is the only place that could fit everyone) and lounged around for a bit. Colby was super tired and ryan wasn't feeling very well. he was up all night the night before:( the guys ended up playing xbox and us girls went and ran some errands-porters, walmart, payless, and down east-the only places there are in rexburg..haha. We then went to bajio for some dinner and then went our seperate ways. The husbands went to see 007 while us girls did silly girl things(video taped, danced around, made sugar cookies). Once the boys got back we all watched what happens in vegas-SO funny. The weekend went by all too fast. it was hard for me to hold the tears back when everyone had to leave. I love company-especially from these girls.

so this is kind of lame..but it's what i came up with! i even tried using the files on our other computer, but the fourth file on the other comp didn't have a fourth picture..haha..so..i think i was putting some plastic wrap over cookies and heading to bed on our make shift bed on the couch...good times.

SCREAM!

So on opening night...no let's start with Whitni...my best friend whitni LOVES high school musical. LOVES it! So ever since she found out high school musical 3 was coming out she has been dying to see it. ME-on the other hand-really couldn't care. But because i'm such a great friend..haha..i went with her and LOVED it! haha..i was getting into every song..except the troy and gabriella songs...gag me. i can't stand that brunette...i even came home and bought the soundtrack on zune(we pay $15 a month for unlimited downloading..otherwise i probably wouldn't have.) It was SO cute! i loved sharpay(ashley tisdale for those of you that don't speak high school musical..i didn't.) I have found my new squeeze...zac efron is a babe!

I made the best cookies ever yesterday! i was so proud of myself. the last couple of batches i've made haven't been the greatest, but these were most definitely blog worthy. They were light and fluffy and gooey..the best kind ever. Sorry you can't taste, only look..haha

so i don't know if all of you remember my post about writing a book...but i am. i started writing it in june and it was going pretty well up until last week. i have it saved on ryan's computer and on his external hard drive and even on a his little jump drive. i update them every once and while but not everytime i write in my book. well..ryan's computer got a virus so he had to reformat his computer-taking off all the files and what not and putting them on his external hard drive. so on monday i woke up and i had some inspiration. i wanted to write it down before i went into work and forgot. so i went on to the external hard drive and looked up my book. no, i didn't loose it-BUT when i opened it i realized it was an old copy...one from TWO months ago. i looked at how many pages where on this copy and it turns out i lost 20 pages..it may not seem like a lot but when it's 20 pages lost out of 60..it's almost half. i immediately felt nausiated. ryan was at work so i text him bawling my eyes out wanting to know what he did with my book! he was grateful he was at work because at that point i was being completely irrational and who knows what would have happened in the hayes household! i even told my boss if i'm not at work tomorrow and the news talks about an enraged wife killing husband over book..you won't wonder why. you could say i was a little upset...well ryan explained how he moved the files onto his hard drive and it really wasn't his fault. for some reason my book was the only thing that didn't update out of ALL the files. retarded i know! i'm feeling a little frustrated at this point and haven't even felt like writing at all. to me my book is like pictures...it's at such a rough draft stage that i don't remember all that i've written or edited since then..AND i'll never get those pages back! my boss tried making me feel better by saying maybe it's a blessing in disguse and the new pages you write will be even better than the ones before. but at this point i'm not feeling like it...so until furter notice-my book is on hold.

This past weekend for the 4th of July we went to Utah to spend it with my family. In my parents neighborhood they actually celebrate the 3rd of July. I don't remember why. But there is this huge celebration down the street at the golf course with jump castles and slides, lots of food, cotton candy, a live band, and of course fireworks-kind of like a carnival with no rides. We went down, but only for a little bit cuz it was SUPER crowded. We just enjoyed the fireworks from my parents deck with the rest of the group.

The rest of the weekend was just relaxing. I spent a little bit of time on my book. Heidi read what i have and gave me some ideas and little motivation to keep writing. After breakfast on friday i don't know who looked out the window, but this 5 buck deer was outside in the yard next to us just relaxing. It was AMAZING! On saturday night we went and ate at McGrath's fish house with the family and were pleasantly surprised as to how much we liked it! My mom and i had tried it before and didn't have the greatest experience, but it was really good! We had a really good weekend. I just wish we could be down there permanantely.

I had an epiphany the other day. I've decided that I want to write a book. crazy idea? I dunno. But since I don't have a lot to occupy my time, i thought it would be a really fun idea! I thought a teen type novel could be interesting, but none of the sci-fi stuff or fantasy. I don't think my imagination is big enough! haha..but if anyone has any suggestions I'd gladly accept!

So last night ryan and i went over to weston and whitni's to hang out. Whitni bought this new game at deseret book and has been wanting to play it forever! so we decided to pull out settlers of zarahemla. i'm sure most of you have heard about this game or of settlers of catan. nobody, except for whitni was especially excited about playing the game and grumbled the whole time, but i ended up liking it! once you get the hang of it, it can be a fun game! Here's where i knew i was my father's child(as if i didn't already know this)...those of you who know my dad know that he is a VERY organized person..and that's an understatement. so as i was gathering my pieces together i didn't even notice what i had done until i had looked around the table at everyone else's scattered pieces.......

So..after my mom had tried to take care of my hair two weeks ago..it faded back to red! impossible color to get out. NEVER do it!! So to get rid of the hideousness that was my hair i went to a professional to get it taken care of! She told me there was no way to get it back to a pretty blonde from this so we went DARK brown to cover up the red. And I was originally planning on growing my hair back out, BUT that changed today! i thought..meh..if i'm going DARK brown, why not go all the way!

crazy spontaneous hair change!

after dying eggs last night i guess i kinda had a little spontaneous urge to dye my hair! haha..i love drastically changing my hair and i haven't done it for a couple months..haha..so last night my friend whitni wanted me to dye her hair and she convinced me to do mine too! so while at walmart i thought if im gonna do it i might as well GO CRAZY! no worries folks...it's non-permanent dye. it'll be back to normal in about a month or so..hopefully....haha
